Mississippi County is heading to Puerto Rico...
and we need your help!
In 2017, Hurricane Maria -- a widespread hurricane hitting a number of Caribbean islands and the U.S. -- is regarded as the worst natural disaster on record to affect Dominica and Puerto Rico. According to Wikipedia, total losses from the hurricane are estimated at upwards of $91.61 billion, mostly in Puerto Rico. Immediately following the storm, 95% of the island was without power, less than half the population had tap water, and 95% of the island had no cell phone service. The longer-term recovery has been just as devastating as Puerto Ricans struggle to restore their communities and lives.
Next summer, a group of individuals from Mississippi County are planning on visiting Puerto Rico to help in the rebuilding efforts. You can support the group as they raise funds to travel and support construction projects in the more devastated areas. By purchasing a special mission trip t-shirt with the mission trip theme -- "In the eye of the storm, You remain in control" -- you can help our local team as they work to show God's love to those in need. Simply download the PDF form below and return it to Nelson Memorial United Methodist Church (106 E Washington St, East Prairie, MO 63845) by Dec. 9. Thank you for your support!! ![]()
