Dogwood UMC Annual Rummage and Bake Event
for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
November 4, 2017
Now in its sixth year, this important Dogwood Church fundraiser has netted more than $20,000 in donations for the Memphis-based hospital which provides cancer research and treatment to an average 7,800 patients each year. Members of the church traveled to Memphis last December to personally hand over the donation to St. Jude officials and participate in the organization’s annual Family Fun Run & Walk activity.
The approach to the rummage event is described as “volunteer giving”—in other words, while the baked goods, the larger items and electronics will have yard sale-type prices, most smaller items will be available for a cash or check donation value the visitor feels is appropriate.

FAQs
- May I shop early? Before 7 a.m. Saturday morning?
Given the way our sale is organized, we cannot let anyone into the doors prior to the Saturday morning 7 a.m. start time. No exceptions, please.
We'll see you bright and early on Saturday morning!
- When are the donations taken to St. Jude?
Each December, a group of our parishioners travel to Memphis to personally deliver the donations to St. Jude representatives. We hand over any cash donations as well as the checks donated during the sale. - To whom do I make the check?
Since we directly hand over the checks to the St. Jude organization, please make all checks out to "St. Jude Children's Research Hospital." - Can I return something if I don't like it or it doesn't work?
Since this is a one-day only sale and all goods are donated, we cannot accept any returns. - Is there a handicapped entrance to the basement?
Unfortunately, we don't have a ramp directly into the basement. However, we will work with you to get access to the basement via the sanctuary. Please just have someone come into the basement the morning of the sale and one of our parishioners can work with you to safely use our ramp/electric stair chair.
